Time Flies when you are having fun is the saying. The past year has been a DOOZY...Is that a real word? Oh well.....
On September 2, 2017, I had a Sentinel Node Biopsy. Thankfully no cancer cells were found in my lymph nodes.
On September 26, 2017 I had a Bi-Lateral Mastectomy with Reconstruction...All went well, I healed a little slower than my impatient self liked, but all went fairly well.
On November 28, 2017 I had a complete Hysterectomy, and they also took my ovaries. Reason being the genetic mutation I carry Lynch Syndrome PMS2 raises your risk for most below the belt cancers.....So I eliminated about 5 cancers with that surgery....Yay me.
On January 2, 2018 - I had my implant switch. This is where they take the tissue expanders out and replace them with Implants.
Fast forward to today.....I'm doing well, tomorrow is my 1 year Survivor check up.....Not exactly sure what that entails, but I'm sure I will find out.
I attended my first "Ladies in Pink" luncheon with a good friend yesterday. And, there's a Survivors Reception this coming Sunday.....Pink October....There's good in it, but it's hard too...
Yes, there's a lot that's happened in this past year.
My kids and Mom came in for Christmas last December. I can sleep on my side again (no expanders, lol) My daughter obtained her drivers license, and now has a car (insert terror here). Said daughter and I took a road trip to Philly area to visit eldest son. And Currently we are in the midst of band season.
Those are just the high-lights.....More to come about my Yoga practice....Don't laugh, it's true.
I'm also trying to rid my house and kitchen of toxic cleaners and processed foods. Trying to be organic is really really hard....
I've discovered essential oils. And, this really great lipstick, lol.....Some days, it truly is the little things...
I've learned more about non-traditional medicine and herbal remedies.
Sometimes change is good, but habits are so hard to break. So I have HOPE the cancer is behind me, and I've changed the name of the Blog to "I Can't Even" - why this name......Well, if you know my daughter at all - this was one of her favorite sayings....Mine too.....I found it on a shirt, and it cracks me up every time I wear it.
More soon!!
